Campari Group has great ambitions in Asia, and Campari India will play an instrumental role in expanding the Group's business in this continent. There is a strong focus on India to deliver APAC Must Win Battle ambition. In India, the company directly manages brand equity development, with a sales team covering key states in India and local distributors for further coverage and commercialization of the product portfolio. Originally with an On Premise focus, as the business expanded and post Covid pandemic, Off Premise is today the largest segment, operating in both Civil Market and CSD channel.
The Marketing Director is a key member of the local management team and leads, motivates and develops a team of Marketing professionals, inspiring both Campari India sales team and the extended team at the distributors' around consumer led Marketing programs. The Marketing Director reports to the Campari Country Manager, India& Sub India and liaises and collaborates with the Asia Marketing & Channel Marketing Director in Singapore as well as the the regional Off Premise and On Premise managers on global and regional innovation and playbook roll out.
Key Responsibilities
The role is responsible for the strategic development of the Campari portfolio in India and requires a combination of strategic thinking and hands-on Commercial attitude to ensure excellent execution of the marketing programs in the field, as the Marketing Director:
Leads the marketing agenda in the India market, via the adaptation and execution of international brand strategies and the definition of more local brand strategies, ensuring full alignment with Regional Team
Actively contributes to the development of Campari India's Must Win Battle Roadmap and strategic plan, annual budget and revised budgeting cycles, by bringing her/his marketing perspective
Leads the development of integrated annual brand plans, in close cooperation with Campari India's commercial Director and with local distributors' marketing organizations, balancing brand equity development and commercial results, staying in close contact with Campari India area managers for execution follow through.
Owns the agreed marketing budget and controls the on-going spending in line with the agreed budget
Reports monthly key achievements or issues against the set KPI.
Is accountable for the design and execution of all above and below the line, brand PR and innovation activities directly managed by Campari India, and ensures full alignment between distributors' marketing / trade marketing plans and Campari India's strategy
Directly liaise and collaborate with the Marketing & Channel Marketing regional team in Singapore for the further strategic development of our brand portfolio including insights and references from the India market
Leads new product development / new product launches in the market, particularly on local jewel such as Old Smuggler and brands with localized production, and develops pricing strategies in cooperation with the Commercial Director and distributors
Ensures continuous monitoring of the competitive landscape and the evolution of new trends
Continuously promotes and supports capabilities development within the marketing organization

Reporting relationship
The role reports to the Country Manager India, who in turn reports to the MD BU South Asia & India. He/she directly leads a team of three brand management professionals (Brown Spirits, Italian Icons, High Energy) 2 Customer Channel marketing professionals and a Marketing Specialist.
Key relationships
Local: Country Manager, Commercial Director, Local Brand Managers, Marketing Assistant, 2 customer channel marketing managers, Area Managers
Regional: Marketing & CCM Director Asia, South Asia & India BU MD, South Asia Marketing Manager
External: Marketing teams at Distributors partners, Agency partners
Experience
The role requires a minimum 15 years of marketing experience in consumer goods or digital native companies in India
Previous commercial/sales exposure is a plus
Solid experience within the India market is a must.
Alcohol beverage industry experience is a strong plus.
Skills
Excellent leadership skills, combined with the ability to drive and deliver change management programs across multiple work streams, within the boundaries of defined strategies and cross functional processes
Robust technical skills across the main marketing specialties, with outstanding execution skills and the ability to lead new product development / launch
Commercial acumen, to be able to challenge and build on commercial plans from Commercial Director and the sales team
Strong communication, influencing and networking skills coupled with advanced relationship management and customer facing ability
Strong conceptual thinking ability with ability to communicate complex issues and information to all levels of the organization across multiple countries and cultures
Other traits and requirements
Ability to travel nationally and internationally on an ad hoc basis
Demonstrated passion for team playing, brand building and delivering results
Orientation to a pragmatic problem-solving approach
Strong Integrity
Education
Degree qualified, major in Business Administration or Marketing a plus
